VG Nash and Sons

VG Nash and Sons was started in 1968 by Victor George Nash as a mobile repair service in and around the Braintree area. Victor's very first customer still stands as one of our best customers today. As he built up his business, Victor rented premesis in Bakers Lane, Notley and in 1969 his son Phil joined him at work. They continued to build up the business together, with a reputation for first class workmanship and excellent value for money, standards that remain present in the business today. When Vic retired in 1989, Phil took over running VG Nash and Sons, and when Phil's son Sam was born in 1985, he took an interest from the moment he could walk. Sam excelled in his mechanic class at college, winning runner up in the UK's "Apprentice of the Year" Awards, and he joined the business full time in 2001.
In 2003, VG Nash and Sons moved to a state-of-the-art premesis on the Springwood Industrial Estate and invested in installing the only VOSA Approved HGV and PSV testing stations in the Braintree area on site. Our fleet has continued to grow, and those who know Phil will know that he has a particular passion for US trucks both at work and play. Our recovery trucks are all fitted with underlifts, ranging from relatively lightweight four-wheelers to heavyweight eight wheel trucks. We also have rotating cranes fitted to some of our recovery vehicles enabling us to offer a heavy lifting service in addition to our recovery work. Some of the work we have undertaken has ranged from recovering a 100-tonne laden low-loader to a 360 excavator which disappeared into quicksand. Please ensure you visit our Recovery page and our Gallery to see lots of examples of our work. We offer an international recovery service too, and travel overseas for jobs that demand it, recovering vehicles from France, Belgium and Sweden.
We recently invested in high tech diagnostic testing equipment to allow us to recognise electronic faults quickly and efficiently on vehicles and trailers. From humble beginnings, today our VOSA HGV and PSV MOT testing lane is fully booked on every testing day and our workshop rarely sees a quiet moment; we operate five heavy recovery trucks, a low loader artic, light recovery vehicles, alongside a 24 hour heavy recovery service, and offer a highly skilled and trained team of roadside assistance engineers and workshop fitters. Our specialist services include limousine and plant recovery. We continue to invest in up -to - the - minute training and equipment, as a small family firm, we hope we can continue to offer our customers the value for money and good service they have come to know and expect from us.
